Standard Test Method for Determining the Forces for Disassembly of Modular Acetabular Devices.
This test method covers a standard methodology for measuring the attachment force between the modular acetabular shell and liner.
Disassembly tests are performed in the following loading directions:
• Axial disassembly test (Push-in/push-out procedures determine the axial locking strength against liner dislodgment.)
• Moment-out disassembly (To gain more information about in-vivo implant safety, resistance to torque is determined using a second test setup.)
